Summer Camp Advisory Team is the provider of IDEAS Summer Day Camps located at Seton LaSalle High School in Pittsburgh, PA. Position Overview

Provide direct support to campers as well as providing ongoing coaching and support for counselors as needed throughout the camp.

 

Primary Responsibilities of the position include: Provide support to campers needing 1:1 attention due to behavior management, first aid, and special medical requirements. This position will cultivate a rapport with counselors to mentor and train them to better serve campers.

Job Description: The Camper Safety Specialist’s role is to ensure that campers have the emotional tools needed for a great day! The individual in this position will have strong skills in behavior management, behavioral disruption, and problem solving in challenging situations. The Camper Safety Specialist will also help with scheduled support, and other proactive responsibilities. This position will also help with daily coaching for the counseling staff on camper and group management strategies

 

Job Type: Full-Time Seasonal

 

Camp Dates: June 10 - August 2

 

Job Location: IDEAS Summer Camp is hosted at Seton LaSalle High School, 1000 McNeilly Rd., Pittsburgh, PA  15226

 

Anticipated Work Hours Per Week:

40 hours per week

 

Wage: This position is at a pay rate of $15.00/hr

 

Must be able to attend required training:

  • In-person PAID training on Saturday, June 8 & Sunday, June 9 from 8 a.m. - 5 p.m.
  • Webinar - TBD

Qualifications

Required education:

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • CPR/First Aid certification or willingness to complete certification prior to the first day of camp

Required experience:

  • 3+ years of camp experience or experience in teaching, working in a camp environment, and working with children
  • 2+ years experience supervising and developing direct reports
  • Comfort with public speaking (to parents, staff and groups of campers)
  • Prior camp experience preferred
